NEX Labs · AI Foundations Workshop

Try the pattern yourself

The workshop covers five steps: personalize, capture, verify, log, apply. This page is the hands-on version — two live exercises built around the same scenario we walk through in the room, so you can catch the error yourself before you ever see the slide.

Would you have caught this?

An AI call-summary tool just produced this summary from a discovery call with "Maria," a logistics-company owner. Before you read the transcript, ask yourself: would you have sent this straight to the CRM?

AI-generated call summary

Maria is interested in dispatch software for her 12-person logistics company. Budget discussed: $50,000. Next step: send proposal by Friday.

MARIA: Honestly, for something like this, I think we're looking at more in the $15,000 range, not $50,000 — that's just outside what we can justify right now. REP: Got it, that's really helpful to know. Let's work within that and see what we can put together.
The real number was $15,000 — a $35K gap.

If that AI summary had gone to the CRM unchecked, the follow-up proposal would have priced a completely different deal. The fix isn't "don't use AI summaries" — it's: never let an AI's output drive an action until every claim has been checked against the source. That's the "verify" step, and it's the one that's non-negotiable.

Same AI, same prompt — different input

Two follow-up emails, both drafted by the same AI tool with the same prompt structure. Only the input context differs. Click the one you'd actually send.

Outreach is just today's worked example. The pattern is what you take home — and verify is the one step that's non-negotiable, whatever the task.

Homework before the Oct 16 AMA: name one repetitive task in your own job you'd plug into step one.
